Since then he has been the indispensible member of the Sri Lankan squad. Infact the team batting revolvs around him as the team expects him to give flying start every time he goes out to bat. His mere presence at the crase gives a soothing vives in the dressing room. On his 39 Bithday he once gain took on his critics who questioned his age factor. Jayasuriya has made a point that its not the age that matters but performance tops the criteria.
